KUALA TERENGGANU: Fear of a man is to be drowned while he is going; trying to save five passengers in a wheelchair that sunk to Sungai Terengganu on Pulau Warisan here at 9.30pm last night.

Abdul Bari Asyraf Mohd, 31, from Kampung Panji, Kuala Terengganu were fishing with a friend when they saw a Mitsubishi Storm car park, which was parked nearby, jump into the river.

In addition to Bari, it is believed that two people tried to save the passengers. They and the five travelers made it safely to the banks of the river but Bari is still missing.

According to his mother, Masitah Awang, 60, Bari left home after the prayers of Asar to go fishing with her good friend.

"It was good for Bari to fish. Any time he was free, he would go fishing with his friends at any fishing place.

"He went out early today and returned home to pray and had a lunch before he went out after Asar," she said when he met at the place.

Masitah said she did not know the event after she told her husband, Mohd Mustafa, 66, who received a police call at about 10pm.
