Cape Town – Proteas bats Hashim Amla it will lose its remaining Single-Day International (ODI) to Sri Lanka on truancy leave due to family illness.
Reeza Hendricks It has been recalled and will come along with the squad ahead of their fourth ODI which takes place at St George's Park in Port Ellen on Wednesday.
“Hashim has asked to be banned from the last two ODIs against Sri Lanka for compassionate reasons as his father is very ill.
"Our thoughts and prayers with Hashim and his family are during this sad time and we understand that family responsibilities always come first," said Proteas team manager, Mohammed Moosajee.
"The choices put on by Reeza Hendricks were added to the squad. The heaters always wanted to circulate Hashim and Reeza in this ODI series at Sri Lanka.
The fifth and last ODI will be held at Newlands in Cape Town on Saturday, 16 March.
