Amy Schumer has revealed she is returning to work just 24 hours after being hospitalized with hyperemesis gravidarum – the same type of severe morning sickness Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge suffered from.

What a trooper!

Taking to Instagram on Friday, the 37-year-old actress confirmed she would be resuming her US comedy tour schedule in New Jersey and Pennsylvania over the weekend, after being forced to cancel a stop in Texas on Thursday.

'I will be doing my shows tomorrow and Sunday!' Amy wrote alongside a (completely unrelated) image of her dog wearing an adorable sheep costume.

Just because

With her fans' attention suitably grabbed, the Trainwreck star also took the opportunity to share her thoughts on US education secretary Betsy DeVos, whose plan to change the way colleges and universities handle accusations of sexual misconduct – including a limit on what the schools legally have to investigate – has caused uproar among many.

'Also, FUCK BETSY DeVos,' Amy added.

'Like for real. Are you kidding me ?! '

Amy, who announced she was expecting her first child with husband Chris Fischer in October, sparked concern among fans on Thursday after sharing an image of herself tucked up in a hospital bed.

'Texas I am so deeply sorry. I have been really looking forward to these shows. I have to reschedule. I am in the hospital. I'm fine, 'she wrote alongside the snap.

'Baby's fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story. I've been even more ill this trimester. I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullshit!

'Sending so much love to the doctors and nurses taking great care of me and Tati! They are cool as hell! And Texas I am really really sorry and I'll be out there as soon as I'm better. '

Hyperemesis gravidarum, which is said to have affected Kate Middleton in all three of her pregnancies, is a very severe form of morning sickness that can often lead to hospitalization.

The condition is characterized by prolonged and severe vomiting, dehydration, weight loss and low blood pressure.

It's not the first time Amy has kept it real about the trials and tribulations of pregnancy.

Just a day after announcing she was expecting, the actress exposed the realities of her first few weeks as a mum-to-be as she shared a very real snap of herself hovering over a toilet bowl with morning sickness.

Later on in the month, the comedian compared her first trimester to a scene from a horror film, likening her pregnancy cravings to Se7en's Eli Gould, who was killed off by his greed in the Brad Pitt thriller.

And in an totes emosh ultrasound video she shared earlier this month, Amy could be seen gasping as she sees her baby for the first time.

'It's moving all around!' The star gushed as she watched the screen excitedly.

'Oh my God, oh my God, see it has so much energy – that's why I'm puking every day.'
