Netflix tries to introduce cheap smartphone and tablet subscription: Gadget.ro – Hi-Tech Lifestyle

Software

2018 was a good year for Netflix, the company really achieving its best figures:

  • an income of 16 billion dollars (+ 35% compared to 2017);
  • profit $ 1.6 billion;
  • 139 million subscribers (+29 million subscribers against 2017).

For 2019, Netflix called for upgrades in its original content investment, but to maintain the advanced trend in terms of operation, it will implement a number of changes with direct impact on users.

The first and most significant are the price increases. These price changes have already been introduced in several countries, in Romania the first tests were introduced earlier this month.

The second change is Netflix working on diversity. Because many users view content on smartphones or tablets, the company is checking that day for cheaper fees for both the play environments. The first tests in India are already, where that strain costs $ 3.64 / month. A major subscription type is this kind of video play but at a standard scale.

The new service may be called Netflix Mobile, and if successful testing is possible it could be globalized before the end of this year.
