France's leader Anis Farda died in her home in Paris on Friday at the age of 90, according to her production company Cine Tamari.

Varda was one of the pioneers of a pioneering French cinema in the 1950s and 1960s and was co-directed by François Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard.

Varda Oscar was honored in her 2017 work for her classical work such as Clio From 5 to 7 and The Gliders and I.

Her latest film "Varda & A" was shown at the Berlin Film Festival in February and received an honorary award.
